ACOA VP in Halifax was Wynn Potter a Conservative Political Appointee -Premier John M. Buchanan
often referred to Potter as "one of our Guys" Senator Lowell Murray knows this. Federal and Provincial Bureaucrats of the period wanted the Thyssen AG Planr in Bridgetown NS to resolve a problem with a Government funded Machining Centre and Shop which was going broke. Look at the senior management of Air Canada during the period. Who bought Aerospatiale Airbus aircraft based on technical excellence and price. None of the AC Senior Management nor Board would have paid any attention to Martin Brian Mulroney PC,QC. I remember coments by Syd Spivak, but Thyssen would not come to Canada to set a Plant to sell to the Middle East -much cheaper and secure plus logical in
Germany. Harper and his bumpkins know nothing about the wheeling and dealing of Martin Brian Mulroney who would have been a Liberal at the time he attended X but could not find a spot nor mentor. The reward? Not much. We should establish something like the PULITZER PRIZE in Canada to encourage reporting that gets to the bottom of things.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10966394.post-16540458836351962272007-11-19T09:15:00.000-05:002007-11-19T09:15:00.000-05:00Wow, Its too bad there are not more journalists li...Wow,
Its too bad there are not more journalists like you around in canada. In parts of Europe and even the US, reporters who have done excellent work like you would be celebrated with Pulitzer prizes. However, in Canada it seems they become the story themselves by powerfull people. I for one believe that the media vilification of you may be due to professional jealousy, as few else seem willing to go out on the line covering stories like this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10966394.post-55318406806159637322007-11-17T11:47:00.000-05:002007-11-17T11:47:00.000-05:00So when are you going to go after the crime, corru...So when are you going to go after the crime, corruption and greed from during the Chretien-Martin years?

I think such a book is overdue already.

And I can assure you that you'll make tons of cash if you go after the Liberals. There's plenty of Canadians who want to read the dirt on them and who'll shell out a good chunk of cash for such a book.

So please feel thusly encouraged, Stevie!Canadian Sentinelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04255833874079591126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10966394.post-8717694183411249552007-11-15T19:35:00.000-05:002007-11-15T19:35:00.000-05:00Stevie, with the Ontario Court of Appeal ordering ...Stevie, with the Ontario Court of Appeal ordering Schreiber's deportation to Germany and federal opposition parties calling for Schreiber to remain in Canada to testify at the recently announced public inquiry into the Mulroney-Schreiber affair, do you think that Schreiber will be deported prior to testifying in the public inquiry?

Without Schreiber's testimony at the public inquiry, is it worth having?

Germany may not send him back to testify.

Butch McLarty's Alt-London
http://www.altlondon.orgButch McLartyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09218519799181676497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10966394.post-85920790597998643582007-11-15T16:32:00.000-05:002007-11-15T16:32:00.000-05:00Stevie, Thank You for all this and for your books....Stevie,

Thank You for all this and for your books. I've been catching up and rereading a slice of Canadian history I have neglected. Those were my glory days and I was simply having to much fun.

Now I have slowed down a bit and finding BC politics to be so thoroughly demoralizing, that the federal is, intertwined as it is, is at least not so depressing. (Look up 'Corky Evens' Letter', it'll be right there in Google.) And this is a fun mystery. I remember just enough...

Thank you especially for your work on the Picton Trial. A heartbreaking story of so many forgotten, invisible women. I'm glad it's you that is telling the story. I don't exactly look forward to reading it but I do. You understand?

All the Best,

Geo in Vancouver, BCAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
